Would you like to work in a front-line service role in a hotel or restaurant? If so, this programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge for entry into the front-line of the tourism and hospitality industry. The programme aims to develop competent, knowledgeable and multi-skilled food and beverage staff who are committed to providing a high standard of personal service in a range of commercial environments. The programme includes a 10-week industry placement at a hotel or restaurant. Industry courses are also available for people working in the hospitality industry.
The programme consists of eight courses including health and safety; food, wine and bar service; professional restaurant service; bar and cocktails; wine; and, barista skills.
Industry courses are available for those employed in industry for 15 hours a week or more. They include: Bar Service; Bar Supervision; Coffee Art; Customer Service and Sales; Restaurant Supervision; Training the Trainers; and, Wine. Each course runs from between three and five days.
