The National Diploma in Casino Gaming (Management) [Ref: 0671], is for people who work, or intend to work, at management levels within the casino gaming industry.

This qualification is designed in order that candidates can meet the regulatory requirements of Section 158 of the Gambling Act 2003.
The qualification comprises compulsory standards that recognise the skills and knowledge required in generic business management. The elective provides an opportunity for candidates to acquire management skills and knowledge as they apply to the specifics of casino gaming operations. The balance allows candidates to gain credits from any domain in the Business Operations and Development and Marketing subfields, and/or from other standards in the Casino Gaming domain, at level 4 or above.
This qualification builds on the skills and knowledge contained in the National Certificate in Casino Gaming (Level 3) [Ref: 0376] and the National Certificate in Casino Gaming (Level 4) with strands in Table Gaming, and Gaming Machines [Ref: 0377].
Special Notes
Section 176 of the Gambling Act 2003 stipulates that the content, format, and duration of any casino gaming training course must be approved by the Secretary for Internal Affairs.
Section 158 of the Gambling Act 2003 requires that all persons must hold a Certificate of Approval if they are employed in a casino in any capacity relating to the following: • conducting approved games • counting money or chips derived from or used in gambling
• moving money or chips derived from or used in gambling • buying or redeeming chips • operating, maintaining, constructing, or repairing gambling equipment • supervising or managing any of the above activities.
To qualify to work in a casino, and in casino gaming, a person must meet the minimum age requirement for entry into a casino, and must also hold a Certificate of Approval issued by the Department of Internal Affairs.
