The school of International Tourism, Hospitality & Events is strategically placed to meet the needs of learners, graduates and industry; regionally, nationally and internationally. This is achieved through programmes that are developed to meet the specifc needs of the industries it is aligned with through its Centres of Excellence; Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Hospitality and Tourism and Travel. The programmes; full time, part time and short courses are a mix of local, national and international qualifications.
The School prides itself with its association with its relevant industry organisations; these again have local, national and international connections. Well developed links with the respective industry Associations is also maintained.
Currently the Schools suite of qualifications offers a wide range of programmes in the service industries from hairdressing and beauty therapy to professional cookery, hospitality, restaurant and beverage service, tourism and travel. We are currently developing programmes in the events field. All programmes are developed to meet the needs of their respective industries. These provide a large input into the New Zealand economy; from a financial and employment aspect. The programmes provide diverse opportunities for graduates and a broad range of career paths.
The training and qualifications have local, national and international relevance which is achieved through best practice facilitation, modern facilities, current industry technologies, flexible delivery and contemporary practices.
