CTC's NZ operation has been in Hamilton since 2004. In that time it has trained over 400 pilots that have completed training to enter into the airline industry as First Officers in jet aircraft. While a large portion of CTC's activity relates to UK and European cadet pilots CTC also trains NZ students - gaining a Commercial Pilots Licence, with a multi-engine instrument rating and including all Basic Gas Turbine (BGT) and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory subjects.

CTC's modern Training Centre is purpose built and fully equipped to train the modern airline pilot. All training reflects an airline operation, from wearing a uniform to following airlne type procedures for aircraft operation and planning. The professional and personal development of the trainee pilot is an integral part of this course. Trainee welfare and safety is a high priority at CTC.

Our fleet of modern aircraft are less than 7 years old. The multi-engine DA42 Twin Star is fully equipped with a glass cockpit similar to the modern Boeing and Airbus jets - a perfect lead into the airline way of operating. 4 modern simulator devices allow the build up of skill to be undertaken without the distraction of turbulent weather and Air Traffic Control stress - unless the instructor decides that input is necessary!

The course is a full time course taking 14 months to complete. Theory training is delivered by specialist ground theory instructors and block courses for all subjects are interspersed with the flight training in a logical and progressive training plan. A comprehensive flying syllabus is managed by an expert Operations Team that ensures flights are scheduled to meet the trainees training requirement - every day. On time performance by instructors and trainees alike is no different to that of an airlne Captain and crew.
