ATTTO is the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation. As an industry training organisation (ITO), we work with industry partners to develop national qualifications and coordinate workplace training for the Aviation, Travel, Tourism and Museum industries.

We work in partnership with our industry sectors to develop national qualifications and coordinate workplace training for the Aviation, Travel, Tourism and Museum industries. In 2007 ATTTO facilitated the workplace training of 4,500 trainees in over 460 businesses throughout New Zealand. ATTTO was established in 1994, with the Museum sector being added to our portfolio in early 2005. Under the Industry Training Act 1992, the role of ATTTO is to:

  • set national skill standards and develop qualifications with the Aviation, Tourism, Travel and Museum industries
  • provide information and advice to trainees and their employers
  • develop appropriate education and training arrangements for these industries
  • arrange for the assessment of trainees
  • monitor education and training quality
  • provide leadership to support industry in workforce development.

ATTTO provides industry leadership by: identifying current and future skill needs; developing strategic training plans to help the industry to meet those needs and promoting training to employers and employees, which will meet current and future needs
